We, the undersigned, call on the UK Government to halt its proposed changes to the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) eligibility criteria and the decision to end inflation-linked increases. While some reform may be necessary, these changes - revealed through leaks and pursued with inadequate consultation - threaten to cause real harm to disabled individuals across the UK.<br /><br />PIP is a vital lifeline for many, ensuring financial security and independence for those with disabilities and long-term health conditions. Restricting access and freezing payments in real terms will push vulnerable individuals further into poverty, undermining their dignity and wellbeing.

It’s already almost impossible to get PIP. They’re just punishing people who have disabilities. I don’t think they understand that they could become disabled at any time in their lives - we need it to survive.

Daily lives for neurodiverse people is difficult enough and different for every single one of them and making the criteria for them to get support harder to access is not only a disgrace. No neuro diverse person is effected in the same way so the criteria could ostracise them further.

Paid into the system all my working life and never minded paying it to help others, now i can no longer work through illness and need help im basically being thrown in the bin. Already at breaking point financially so why not take the the few crumbs and the last of any dignity i had as well. Everyone told me Labour where no different to the Tories and looks like they were right, ive certainly learnt a lesson.

Changing the goal posts on eligibility will not make the disabled less disabled. It will just plunge people into poverty. I am disgusted with this Labour party. They couldn't get any lower.

People on PIP are terrified about these changes. Stress damages health, both mental and physical. It is totally counterproductive to the stated aim of getting people back into work. I am 63 with sight loss and claim PIP. I've recently had surgery for breast cancet

Any attempt to cut PIP would be devastating for the vulnerable people and push them furthe into misery.

It is possible for autistic people to score in EVERY area of the PIP assesment but not get a 4 in any one area. These changes need to be stopped. I really do think these changes discriminate against autistic adults

Far easier ways to cut the welfare bill than buy penalising sick people,, what about girls that get pregnant at sixteen having never worked or stop the pretend asylum seekers you useless wankers

I have osteoarthritis pacemaker boarderline type two diabetes epilepsy and mobility problems and these proposed cuts will plunge us the disabled into mass poverty we need our pip to pay for service's and for mobility items shopping a s paying bills it is so hard to manage from day to day these cuts to disability benefits will kill thousands and thousands of disabled people and making many thousands house bound with no help whatsoever this is so disgusting
