We are faced with an alarming reality where our National Health Service (NHS) is becoming increasingly inaccessible to many, leaving people with no choice but to pay exorbitant fees for private healthcare services. An issue that affects all of us, it's time we come together to protect our NHS and ensure healthcare remains a right, not a privilege.Frustrations with long delays for GP appointments have led to a surge in private GP services across Britain. At the London General Practice on Harley Street, for example, fees range from £275 for a half-hour consultation, to £550 for an hour. This widening gap in healthcare access threatens to create a two-tier system where timely healthcare becomes a luxury available only to those who can afford it. This is a stark departure from the principles upon which the NHS was founded.The growth of private GP services is a symptom of a larger problem - a deepening shortage of full-time GPs, rising demand for care, and GP burnout. Instead of encouraging the use of private services through apps or otherwise, we must call upon the government to address these root causes and to invest in our NHS.

I’m sick of the NHS being used as a political ****. It should not be allowed to be used as such. It is a wonderful institution that enables all to be treated freely as point of contact. Mr Bevan made an inspired decision to start the NHS. It annoys me beyond measure to know it is itself being silently privatised little by little. It is our NHS so the politicians should leave it alone and allow it’s dedicated staff to do the job they do extremely well.💋❤️

I have a long term illness and this will mean that any treatment that I may need, will be overlooked in favour of someone who can pay. The NHS was created for the health of the British people. It should remain free and easy to access.

As I currently waiting for nhs consultant referral for neurology and believe everyone should be treated fairly in the correct queuing system and this should not be dictated by money.
