Being a dental nurse is a million jobs rolled into one, and doing it during COVID has made it much more difficult. We assist the dentist, we organise our surgery's, we hold the hands of our patients who are in pain or at risk, we are counsellors and friends, we pay for our own GDC and courses, we put a lot on the line. But we get paid the minimum wage (just above £17k per year) despite being on the front line throughout the pandemic. So while we're helping patients, we're struggling to pay basic bills.
