Over 10 million pensioners are now losing our winter fuel payment. It makes sense to scrap this for the super wealthy but for many of us, we have small private pensions that put us just above the limit for receiving pension credit and therefore the winter fuel payment makes a huge difference. <br><br>Pensioners will be scared to put on their heating this winter which will lead to more winter deaths.

What a disgraceful action by MP Rachel Reeves, I see she has NOT stopped the Heating Allowance that ALL MP's get. Labours been in power for about 2 weeks and they are already destroying the most vulnerable!

It’s very unfair that all our lives we worked hard and now being taxed and penalised again . Stop the increase in salary of all the politican who don’t deserve a raise at all!!

How much more money do pensioners have to lose before people wake,up and realise that we are encouraged all our lives to save for our retirement, and that if we do or our parents have worked hard to leave their families something and then they are robbed of anything that has been left to them ,and I am not talking about a fortune just a little bit that they thought was going to be of help for their children and grandchildren, we are penalised for doing so . You may as well never work, never save , and claim everything you can .

I thought as soon as they got in this would happen with pensions. Absolutely disgraceful and this government should be brought to task over it. It’s hard enough to manage as it is without taking from us when have no chance of ever earning anything extra late in life!

Typical - hit the vulnerable pensioners first. The pensions should be minimum wage.

First my Warm Home Discount was cut, then my tiny pension was taxed 20% reducing it by £14 a month, now Winter Fuel Allowance cut. As Rachel Reeves said, "if we can't afford it, we won't do it". That's why I won't turn my heating on this winter.

Pensioners who are just a few pence over the qualifying threshold for minimum income guarantee feel unjustifiably affected by losing this allowance. Some are living in the coldest areas in the UK, and are particularly affected by the coldest snowiest conditions especially in the North East.
